Our client, a prominent German footwear company, prides itself on high-quality, fashionable shoes. They have established a reputation for comfortable shoes with meticulous craftsmanship, resulting in a perfect fit.
They offer a wide variety of shoes, ranging from pumps to sneakers to sandals. Additionally, the firm is committed to maintaining sustainable practices and utilizes eco-friendly materials in its wide range of products.
Responsibilities
- Build up and manage the China business in accordance with China’s country strategy, global brand positioning, and guidelines from HQ.
- P&L responsibility for the China business, build profitable and sustainable value-oriented growth.
- Build up a company structure that meets HQ’s expectations in terms of growth and profitability by setting up points of sale in the most important Tier I and II cities of China.
- Establish strong and sustainable relationships with all key customers within the footwear industry.
- Establish and supervise the marketing team and define the ideal go-to-market strategy across all relevant channels. Prepare annual marketing plans and bring the heritage of the brand to the Chinese market by using HQ campaigns and tools, creating a Chinese web community, advertising, and clinics.
- Manage the sales team to achieve product category targets and overall successful sell-through.
- Manage the human resources of the company and keep fluctuation at a minimum level by creating an atmosphere of trust, respect, and success.
- Establish the business in China according to the company’s mission statement.
- Integrate local market needs into the international product range without losing focus on our mission statement by addressing product needs and sell-out information to HQ.
Requirements
- Proven experience in successfully managing an affiliate of a non-Asian company based in Greater China.
- A minimum of 8 years of working experience in top-level management in the Chinese footwear industry.
- Established network with key decision-makers within the footwear industry.
- Excellent skillset in marketing (focus on online marketing), sales, and retail.
- Strong ability in conceptual elaboration of strategic documents.
- Strong ability in professional execution of measurement plans.
- Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English, with above-average spoken and written skills.
- Ideally a Chinese local.
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in business administration or similar.
- Very good understanding of general management, finance, and human resources.
- Excellent IT skills (MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, ERP system).
