Current Search: Managing Director – based in Shenzhen – for a European-headquartered fashion eCommerce company specializing in fashion and underwear.
On behalf of our client, a fast-scaling fashion eCommerce brand headquartered in Düsseldorf, we are currently seeking a Managing Director to establish and lead their sourcing and operations hub in China. The company is known for its innovative approach to underwear and fashion, combining comfort, function, and aesthetics in its product lines.
This newly created role will be instrumental in building the company’s sourcing and supply chain capabilities in Asia, with a strong focus on garment production — particularly underwear and seamless essentials.

Your Responsibilities
- Establish and manage the new company in China (Shenzhen)
- Recruit and lead a team in the areas of product management, purchasing, and supply chain
- Establish and maintain relationships with local producers, suppliers, and business partners
- Manage all operational processes (purchasing, logistics, quality assurance, finance)
- Work closely with the headquarters in Europe
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Around 40 years old, with 5–10 years of senior leadership experience in sourcing or operations, ideally in the garment or textile sector
- Proven track record in building and managing teams in product management, purchasing, and supply chain
- Strong background in underwear, seamless garments, or fashion sourcing
- Western-style communication skills; fast-paced, hands-on, and resilient under pressure
- Fluent in Mandarin and English; German language skills are a plus
- Master’s Degree or MBA preferred
- Entrepreneurial mindset with intercultural competence and negotiation skills
