Our client, Emma – The Sleep Company, is a global D2C sleep brand focused on sleep and well-being through research-led products and a strong customer-first model. Founded in 2015, the business has grown into a multi-channel company operating across 35+ markets, with offices in Frankfurt, Lisbon, Manila, and Mexico City. APAC is one of its most important growth regions, covering a mix of developing and mature markets across Asia-Pacific.
Role Overview
As Senior Director, Commercial APAC, you will lead the company’s commercial growth agenda across the region, with responsibility for revenue, margin, EBIT, NPS, and the wider performance of a multi-market P&L. The role spans online, omnichannel, and expanding offline channels, with a clear focus on building sustainable and profitable growth across markets at different stages of maturity. Based in Manila, you will report directly to the CEO & Co-Founder and work closely with regional teams and Country Managers across APAC. Moderate travel is expected based on business needs.
Your Responsibilities
- Regional commercial strategy: Lead the APAC commercial growth plan across online and offline channels, making sure regional priorities stay aligned with wider global goals.
- Market development: Help newer markets build stable growth while strengthening performance and market position in more established countries.
- Omnichannel expansion: Grow offline business opportunities, including wholesale and store-based channels, while building a stronger and more connected omnichannel presence.
- Brand and customer focus: Strengthen Emma’s position as a trusted sleep brand in APAC through customer insight, close cross-functional work, and strong local relevance.
- Cross-functional leadership: Partner with Product, Marketing, and Operations teams to improve customer experience and support regional execution.
- Performance ownership: Take ownership of key performance measures including revenue growth, EBIT, and customer trust metrics.
- Team leadership: Build, guide, and develop a high-performing regional commercial team, while supporting Country Managers and encouraging stronger collaboration across APAC markets.
- Leadership culture: Create a practical, ownership-led environment that is customer-focused, commercially aware, and execution-driven across regional hubs including Manila and other major APAC locations.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 15+ years of commercial leadership experience across APAC markets, including clear ownership of P&L performance.
- Proven success in growing businesses profitably across multiple countries, channels, and market stages.
- Strong commercial judgment and strategic thinking, paired with a hands-on approach to execution.
- A strong understanding of customer behavior and the ability to guide markets from early growth stages into more mature and stable performance.
- Experience leading senior talent, building strong teams, and supporting succession planning across a regional structure.
- Fluent English, written and spoken. Additional regional language skills would be an advantage.
