Our client is a well‑established international industrial technology group known for its advanced processing equipment and engineered solutions for demanding industrial applications. The company serves customers globally and is recognized for its engineering quality, innovation capability, and customer‑oriented approach. Within one of its key business segments, it provides specialized equipment and process solutions to industrial customers.

The organization is strengthening its leadership team in Asia and is now seeking a Business Unit Director China to lead a major local business unit, drive commercial growth, and further develop the organization.

Job Scope

As Business Unit Director China, you will take full responsibility for the performance and development of the local business unit. This role combines commercial leadership, customer development, organizational management, and strategic execution, with a clear focus on growth, and long‑term market positioning in China.

Your Responsibilities

  • Business leadership: Lead the local business unit with full accountability for commercial performance, customer development, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Strategic execution: Translate global and regional priorities into strong local execution, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives.
  • Customer development: Strengthen market presence, expand the customer base, and build long‑term relationships with key accounts and partners.
  • Team leadership: Lead, coach, and develop the local team, fostering a high‑performance, collaborative, and customer‑focused culture.
  • Market positioning: Contribute to the development of products, solutions, and go‑to‑market strategies tailored to the China market.
  • Cross‑functional collaboration: Work closely with regional and global stakeholders to ensure alignment across functions and markets.
  • External representation: Represent the business unit with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders, promoting innovation and best‑practice sharing.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in engineering, business, or a related discipline.

  • At least 10 years of professional and leadership experience in an international industrial environment.
  • Strong background in capital equipment and machinery.
  • Proven track record in leading teams, driving business performance, and managing customer‑facing organizations.
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to combine strategic thinking and hands‑on execution.
  • Solid understanding of industrial project business and complex technical solution selling.
  • Excellent planning, coordination, decision‑making, and communication skills.
  • Entrepreneurial, resilient, and adaptable in a dynamic business environment.
  • Fluent English and Chinese, written and spoken.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the local market.
